XNET FREE SIGNAL WORKS AS SIMPLE AS 1,2,3

 

1. Free Signal land stations transmit audible tones to indicate they are ready to receive your traffic and to indicate propagation is open.

2. Your PTC-II modem hears the Free Signal transmission from the shore station and you transmit a request for connection.

3. Traffic management algorithm queues traffic from multiple callers, taking them in turn, so no one can jump in line.

 

Coverage

bullet 4 US stations provide excellent coverage along entire US East Coast, Gulf Coast, Western Caribbean, Bahamas, DR, Puerto Rico.  Limited coverage Eastern & Southern Caribbean.
bullet 3 additional US stations are planned for early ’06, with more coming online as necessary to increase capacity in primary coverage areas.
bullet Additional Eastern & Southern Caribbean coverage is being solidified.
bullet Trans-Atlantic and full European / Mediterranean coverage currently online with stations in England and Sweden.
bullet Limited South Pacific coverage, with station in New Zeeland.
bullet More International stations scheduled in 2006.

 

Subscription Options

XNet Yacht Association Membership is $120/yr.

bullet Members entitled to as much as 10 hours per month use of Network of Private Coast Stations WQDT278
bullet Members desiring more than 10 hours per month may purchase an extra share of use for an additional $120, bringing the total to $240 for up to 20 hours of use per month.
bullet XNet use without XGate is possible, but not recommended – technical support is $60/hr.

 

XGate: The Extraordinary Wireless Gateway is $220/yr + $59 1-time set-up.

                   Optional mail forwarding is $8 per month.

XNet members with XGate get normal tech support included.

 

WeatherNet: Comprehensive weather-on-demand is $99/yr+downloads.
